Number 14 – Kyrenia
Alot of the restaurants in our Northern Cyprus guide are quite well known to most residents, Number 14 in Girne on the other hand is what is know as a ‘hidden gem’. It is so nice, we weren’t sure whether to put it into the guide or not. Once word gets around we might have trouble booking a table.

Owned and run by Cliff and Kay Morgan, the restaurant is actually in their home, around the swimming pool. The maitre de is their son in law, Kemal. If you wish to book a table, during the day the doors are closed, the door has a paper and pen for you to write your reservations for that evening and the menu for that evening is also posted on the door. The menu is changed daily and fresh local produce is always used.

Starters:
Sweet melon with white cheese and balsamic glaze 12tl
Soup of the day 10tl
Fresh peach with herb cream dressing 10tl
Pork terrine with onion marmalade 12tl
Advocado pear with walnuts and sweet mustard dressing 12tl
Stuffed calamari with a tomato sauce 12tl
Middles:
Fillet steak with mustard sauce 28tl
Chicken livers with dried apricots in a brandy sauce 20tl
Cheeky pork with peppercorn and apple sauce 20tl
Roulade of chicken with bacon and cheese and tomato sauce 22tl
