KADS Kyrenia Amateur Dramatics
Somebody once said ‘All the world’s a stage’, and in Northern Cyprus the Kyrenia Amateur dramatics society (or KADS for short) have been performing on their stage since as early as 1975.
The first performances were directed by Dorothy Haile at Peter Line’s restaurant now called ‘The Grapevine’ on Ecevit Rd in Kyrenia. While there was a big jump to 1987 until the next performances, the society has performed a steady stream of plays ever since.
From Agatha Christie to Sherlock Holmes and from ‘The odd couple’ to Alan Bates, their choice of performances and writers have always been varied and diverse.
Their most recent was a rehearsed play reading of “An Inspector Calls” by J. B. Priestley at the Watermill Hotel. The society is always on the look out for new members, actors and behind the scenes staff. They are a friendly bunch and meetings are held at members houses on a rotating basis.
If you want to get involved or just simply want to find out more information you can contact Tony Woods on +90 533 877 0389 or email: tonyanita@cyprus.com
Lincguide is hoping to be able to have future performances available to download from our site, so we will keep you posted.

Hi, I have just read your e mail, ( a bit late I know), but it was passed on to me by Tony by computer and my computer has been playing up. What would you like to do as far as a production is concerned? On stage, back stage or generally helping. It was a pity you missed the meeting on Friday but I'm sure we'll have another one soon.
